Biostatistical Education and Training

Lectures and training sessions are given to health care professionals in Atlantic Health who are interested in doing research. All Atlantic Health investigators are encouraged to attend these educational activities which are usually devoted to discuss these topics:
  • Research design
  • Hypothesis testing
  • Choosing appropriate statistical methods
  • Choosing appropriate diagnostic test evaluation tools (e.g. sensitivity, specificity)
  • Data entry and set up for analysis
  • Performing simple statistical analysis using Excel, SPSS, or other statistical software
