Diagnostic Services

Overlook Hospital's Department of Radiology provides a complete spectrum of routine diagnostic services.  Overlook also provides state-of-the-art imaging and imaging guided interventional procedures for the musculoskeletal system. 

Overlook features the state's first combined PET/CT scanner, as well as the first short bore 3T MRI unit.  We utilize digital radiography of the bones and joints, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound and nuclear medicine to meet the service needs of our orthopedic referrers.  All of these images are available electronically at the referring physicians' desk top via web access.  

For the most comprehensive noninvasive evaluation of joints, often required by high caliber athletes, standard arthrography (in which radiographic contrast is injected into the joint), computed tomography arthrography, and magnetic resonance arthrography are routinely performed by board-certified radiologists specializing in musculoskeletal radiology.  

Minimally invasive procedures such as Kyphoplasty and Vertebroplasty are also available.
