OB GYN

Atlantic Health's Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Residency Program, located at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ, and Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ, offers a university level education in community hospital settings.

Dynamic teaching faculty, abundant opportunities for clinical research and diverse patient needs characterize the four-year OB/GYN residency program. Nestled in the beautiful communities of Morristown and Summit, NJ, the hospitals provide state-of-the-art health care for women of northwestern New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania and southern New York. The program, which admits four new residents each year for a total of 16 residents, is big enough to handle our patient load, but small enough to maintain a special camaraderie and family feeling among residents. 

The OB/GYN residency program will launch in 2008 and rounds out Atlantic Health's complement of medical residency programs.  Atlantic Health has traditionally trained University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) residents in all post graduate years.  Starting in 2008, our interns and second years will benefit from the experience of having senior UMDNJ residents at both hospital campuses.  In addition, students from Mount Sinai Medical School will undertake their OB/GYN rotation at Atlantic Health.

Atlantic Health is the primary academic and clinical affiliate in New Jersey of Mount Sinai School of Medicine and The Mount Sinai Hospital.  This affiliation has enhanced the opportunities for residents to engage in basic science, as well as clinical research in a multitude of areas.
