Atlantic Hospice was one of the first hospices in New Jersey—and in the United States with 30 years experience serving Essex, Morris, Somerset and Union counties.  We believe that the last months and days of life should be comfortable and peaceful.  At Atlantic Hospice, our mission is to provide compassionate, dignified, high-quality palliative and hospice care. Our care focuses on enhancing the quality of life for those dying of advanced illness, as well as on supporting family members and caregivers through their loss.

When you and your primary physician determine that aggressive curative treatment is no longer appropriate or desired, you or your loved one may be referred to Atlantic Hospice. We provide compassionate end-of-life care in a person’s homes, assisted living facility or nursing home.

Atlantic Hospice nurse liaisons are available onsite at Morristown Memorial and Overlook Hospitals to answer questions or assist in referral to hospice.  Our Inpatient Hospice Unit in Morristown provides hospice patients requiring a short term stay for symptom management around the clock care by Atlantic Hospice professionals in a warm and supportive environment.

Many people residing in nursing homes or assisted living facilities require palliative care and hospice services. Atlantic Hospice has a special program that provides clinical experts who work in conjunction with the facility staff. Together, these professionals work to ensure that residents remain comfortable and in a familiar environment at the end of life.  The Atlantic Hospice team collaborates with the facility’s professional staff to focus on the physical, emotional, and spiritual comfort of patients in their final months, and to offer support to family members.

Your doctor and the hospice team will work with you and your loved ones to develop a plan of care that’s right for you. Our goal is to manage your pain, control symptoms and provide you with dignity, control and respect.
