Weight Loss Surgery That Works

If you're more than 100 pounds overweight and have tried and failed to lose weight, or if you suffer from obesity related health problems such as heart diseasediabetes or sleep apneajoint disease or infertilitybariatric surgery may be right for you. Bariatric surgery is recognized by the American Heart Association and the American College of Surgeons, and is endorsed by the National Institutes of Health as a treatment for clinically severe obesity.

Whether you're 18 or 70 years old, our extensive bariatric surgery programs offer everything you need - from informational meetings and preoperative testing to postoperative support, exercise programs, and appropriately sized hospital gowns and beds. The Center offers free Information Seminars and Weight Loss Surgery Support Groups to help you before and after surgery. Our highly trained surgeons specialize in minimally invasive (laparoscopic) techniques that result in faster recoveries, shorter hospital stays, less postoperative pain and fewer complications.

Tri-state residents choose our Metabolic Medicine & Weight Control Center not only for our outstanding surgical outcomes, but also for our friendly, supportive environment. Our commitment to you doesn't end after bariatric surgery – at the Metabolic Medicine & Weight Control Center, we also offer metabolic monitoring to help reduce possible complications. Monitoring metabolism has been shown to improve weight loss outcomes and is an important part of Morristown Memorial’s commitment to excellence in bariatric surgery. In fact, we are the only hospital in the area that offers a coordinated metabolic and bariatric program.

The metabolic medicine consultation is designed to provide you with all the support you need to safely achieve your weight loss goals: postoperative medical care, reconciliation of your medications and guidance on aspects of successful weight reduction.
